How to Stop Mold in the Bathroom in 3 Easy Steps

There are thousands of species of mold and they can be found in almost every environment from the Arctic to Arizona. Mold is used to make cholesterol-lowering drugs and cholesterol-raising cheese. But, not all molds are created equal. The splotchy spots on your bathroom tile, grout, shower curtain, and fixtures can be hazardous to your health. Those susceptible to mold can suffer from allergic reactions, asthma attacks, sinus congestion, and other problems. Fortunately, getting rid of mold is easy and a few defensive steps can stop mold from festering on a regular basis.

  1. Scrub it away softly: Soft Scrub Mold & Mildew Stain Remover Spray is formulated to remove mold and disinfect and whiten bathroom surfaces. Soft Scrub is a non-abrasive spray that won’t scratch glass shower doors, toilets, tubs, or tile. Just spray moldy areas with Soft Scrub and softly scrub away the mold.
  2. Air out the problem: Bathroom mold loves warm, dark, and damp environments. Keep your bathroom dry by using the ventilation fan when showering and bathing. Leave the fan on for 15-20 minutes after you’re done. If you live in a region with high humidity, consider placing a dehumidifier in your bathroom.
  3. Pre-emptive strikes: A study by the University of Arizona of 160 homes found mold in every one. Even though you may not be able to see them, tiny mold spores are everywhere. Use Soft Scrub Mold & Mildew Stain Remover Spray on a weekly basis to keep mold problems from getting out of hand. Be sure to scrub in all those places mold loves to hide—under sinks, behind toilets, under shampoo bottles, on the bath caddy, and around the vent fan.
