Love Your Pets but Hate the Pet Hair?

Living in a pet-friendly environment has its perks. After all, it is nice to always have a friend around, and some may also alert you to the approach of a visitor. However, pets can easily affect the cleanliness of your household, and many pet owners find it difficult to deal with the hair. If your pet’s hair is becoming a menace, use these tips to help you have a cleaner house.

Rugs and Blankets

To avoid excess hair on your carpet or furniture, it is often smart to use rugs and blankets. You can lay these items in areas where your pets spend most of their time. It’s much easier to deal with the hair when it is on a removable surface, and most rugs or blankets can be placed in a washer. This way you will spend less time vacuuming and more time enjoying your pet.

Hair Resistant Materials

Another effective way to minimize uncleanliness and hair buildup is to decorate with hair resistant fabrics. Instead of carpet, you might prefer tile or hardware floors. For your furniture, look for leather, canvas, and tough cottons. It is not very difficult to remove hair from these surfaces, and they are less likely to attract unwanted hair.

Cleaning Tools

Even with rugs and hair-resistant materials, hair is likely to build up in areas of the home. Fortunately, there are a variety of cleaning tools that are effective at removing hair. Lint rollers are especially helpful to remove hair from your drapes and furniture. You can keep them around your house so that it always stays clean. Dryer sheets have also proven to be effective at removing hair off difficult surfaces. However, it is important to test this method before you use it. Otherwise, it could ruin the texture of your furnishings. If these cleaning tools do not work, you can also try wet rubber gloves. You can wipe these gloves on a variety of surfaces to eliminate hair.

Vacuum

In addition to these cleaning tools, it is important to vacuum regularly. If you have pet hair, vacuuming may require a little more time and effort. In most cases, you will need to vacuum the spots in your house multiple times to remove hair. You can also engage in daily vacuuming for a cleaner, fresher environment.

Remember, just because you have indoor pets does not mean that you cannot have a clean house. By taking advantage of these simple solutions, you can maintain a clean environment for both you and your pets.
